The Final Assignment and What I Learned

It’s ironic: liking new media and social networks as much as I do, and then going off grid during the holidays. But sometimes you just need a break.
So I went off grid during Thanksgiving with the family. Now that Turkey Day over, I owe you a description for the final assignment. It’s easy.
All I want [...]

A flat tire, last week’s assignments, this week’s assignments, and political blogs

I apologize for not being in class today, and for the late notice. There wasn’t much I could do about it. I left the house for my drive to UTD and noticed shortly thereafter that one of my tires seemed to be abnormally low. I stopped at an actual gas station — not a mini [...]

Class 9/22

I’ve been making a list of what blogs I have and what ones are missing or I don’t have. There are a few where the URL might be broken (or, in Wes’ case, I input wrong — sorry, Wes). Unfortunately, there are too many students who have not started a blog, have not written in [...]

Student blogs are now listed

A list of student blogs are provided in the blogroll to the right. There are several students without blogs and are not listed here.
Here is a pdf list of the students and their blogs. Matt: Your blog is listed, but not here. I’ll fix that.

Candiluu’s blog post (on the elections)

Since my blog for class is about gaming and politics would be, well, out of place there, I’ll just give the homework assignment to you here.
I plan to vote for Obama because he is the furthest to the right I can go without having to leave the country. Yes, I said he’s to the right. [...]

Frankie DeSoto’s list of social networks

Frankie sent me this via Faceboo, so I wanted to share it with the class here …
<snip>
Here are my lists of social networks that I am currently using:
MySpace: I use it to check on the latest music and chat with family and friends.
Facebook: I use it to chat with fellow students and friends and family.
Twitter: [...]

Searching for Blogging Client. With Updates!

Right now, at this moment, I am trying MacJournal?s blogging feature. I figure why not. I?ve tried them all — ecto, Mars Edit, the Wordpress browser interface, Yojimbo, Circus Ponies Notebook, to name but a few. Some are made for blogging, others are more general purpose with or without blog features. So far, none of [...]

Testing ecto again

Of course a program like ecto, a high-powered blogging client, is much more robust than a program like MacJournal. … I get a lot more options, of course, and I can resize from within ecto (a bit awkward). blog1.jpg

Notes from Class 03 uploaded

I had quite few notes and how to items for your early blog writing in the “presentation” last week. I forgot to upload it, so here it is now.

Here’s a list of Twitter names

Most of you have signed up with Twitter, and a few of you are actually using Twitter. So to remember who everybody is on Twitter, here is a list of names/Twitter names.

Hey, Frankie & others: Interesting use of Twitter

Is it spam or legit? lessaccounting.

Read All About It!

The description for this class has been posted as a separate page for easy access. This is generally what the class will be about, although it was written weeks ago and is bound to change. I’ll be adding a rough-outline syllabus in the coming days.
I’ve also added a blurb about me on the About Me [...]
